Global Illumination models

Explore the different Global Illumination (GI) techniques that are available in VUE atmospheres and how they influence outdoor lighting.

VUE's Atmosphere Editor includes multiple Global Illumination (GI) techniques for computing indirect lightings. In this tutorial, learn more about the differences between these GI models and how they influence the indirect lighting of objects in an outdoor environment. Barry Marshall also covers tips for creating realistic lighting scenarios and better contrast.

Note: This tutorial was recorded in a legacy version (VUE 2016). Most techniques shown here are still valid for the most recent version of VUE, but some parameters have changed since the recording and the interface has been redesigned.
