Rhapis exelsa, the bamboo palm, is considered native from Southern China and Taiwan even though it was never found in the wild. It is a short and slim palm of 4 meters in height growing in dense groups like bamboos, hence its name. Because Rhapis excelsa mostly grows in shaded areas and can therefore be great as an indoor plant, or small gardens in tropical and subtropical climates.
