Yucca brevifolia, the Joshua tree is, with the Saguaro cactus (Carnegiea gigantea), the most symbolic species of United States deserts and can be found in California, Utah and Arizona. Starting its growth as a single trunk, it then ramifies into several smaller branches growing in all directions. The Yucca brevifolia’s leaves are as rigid as swords, and will remain attached to the trunk for a very long time even once dried.
