Carnegiea gigantea, the saguaro cactus is probably the most emblematic cactus species of the Western American deserts, even though it can only be found natively in South Arizona (USA) and North Sonora (Mexico). This giant cactus of 16 meters high usually grows into a candelabra form, giving a unique look to all desert scenes.
