Festuca gautieri, the spiky fescue is endemic from a small part of the Pyrenean mountains (France and Spain). It can be found in altitude and grows as green pillow shaped of up to 50 cm in all dimensions. Despite its restricted geographic origin, the spiky fescue is one of the most used green ornamental grass for landscaping.
