Melia azedarach, the Chinaberry tree, is a hardy species growing originally in a wide range of conditions throughout Asia and Oceania, from Nepal to Salomon Island and tropical Australia. After its introduction as an ornamental tree, Melia azedarach is now widely spread worldwide and naturalized in Africa, Middle East and in the American sun belt. Its incredible adaptation to a wide range of climates and soils, its regular shape on a straight trunk, its elegant blue flowering and its golden foliage in fall, make of the Chinaberry tree a very popular tree for urban landscapes, in tropical to warm temperate climates.
