Pinus contorta dead forest is a dead Rocky Mountain Lodgepole pine procedural model, specially designed to represent dead forested trees, showing different states of residual bark. The Lodgepole pine, a common pine in the NW of America and Canada, grows from 450-3500 meters in altitude. It is a slim, medium-sized columnar pine, reaching a mature height of around 30 meters, with some rare specimens growing up to 45 meters. Its fast-growth and adaptation to poor soil make Pinus contorta var latifolia a good species for timber production.
