Pinus ponderosa dead forest is a ponderosa pine procedural vegetation model that will generate dead forested trees, featuring different states of residual bark. The Rocky Mountains' common Pinus ponderosa grows from British Columbia, Canada to North Mexico, between 300-3100 meters in altitude. With a regular pyramidal shape and height up to 50 meters, it's often mistaken for Pinus jeffreyii, which it can grow alongside in California. The difference can be noted by smaller cones (2x smaller than jeffreyi), larger size, and greener needles. Although mainly used for timber in the western US, it's mainly cultivated as an ornamental tree elsewhere.
