Tamarix gallica, the French tamarisk, grows as a big bush or as a small tree with up to 5 meters in height. It originates from mediterranean regions in Europe and North Africa. The tamarisk gallica can adapt perfectly to very dry and salty conditions and is commonly found on dunes along see shores where it can grow in the form of crawling bushes. When cultivated, the tamarisk can be grown as an elegant little tree and is appreciated for its wispy blossoms.
