Strelitzia juncea, the rush-leaved bird of paradise, is a plant of 2 meters in height native to South Africa. Similar to its cousin Strelitzia reginaea, it features incredibly weird looking flowers forming a shape like a bird’s head, but it differentiates itself from that species thanks to its narrow cylindrical leaf stalks reminiscent of the common rush.
