Salix elaeagnos, the rosemary willow, is also known as bitter willow, olive willow, hoary willow or Elaeagnus willow. It is a pioneer species for growing along pebble riverside beaches and it is particularly common throughout southern Europe and around the Mediterranean area. The fine and graceful foliage of the rosemary willow as well as its rapid growth make it a highly valued species for landscaping.
