Salix elaeagnos, the rosemary willow is also known as bitter willow, olive willow, hoary willow or Elaeagnus willow. It is a pioneer species of pebble riverside beaches, particularly common throughout southern Europe and around the Mediterranean. The fine and graceful foliage of the rosemary willow, as well as its rapid growth, makes it a highly valued species for landscaping.
