Jacaranda mimosifolia, the blue jacaranda, is a small tree (up to 15 meters high), native from the Chaco area (center of South America) where it is commonly found in wooded savannahs and dry forests. Highly cultivated elsewhere, from Mediterranean to tropical countries, the blue jacaranda is the star of tree lines along roads and streets. It is particularly appreciated for its massive blue flowering in spring and its resistance to drought. The blue Jacaranda grows both as round silhouettes and short umbrellas.
