Taxodium distichum lone is a bald cypress specially designed for hero specimens growing isolated in wild swamps. Native to the Southeastern United States, the bald cypress predominantly thrives in the vicinity of rivers and swamps, essentially creating freshwater mangrove-like ecosystems. This tree typically attains an average height of up to 40 meters and is characterized by its lofty and robust root collar, which bears a striking resemblance to a bottleneck. To facilitate oxygen intake for its submerged roots, the Taxodium distichum, or bald cypress, is known to develop vertical aerial roots—a distinctive trait it shares with certain other mangrove trees, such as those belonging to the Avicenia genus. In its natural habitat, the bald cypress often finds itself adorned with Spanish moss, which you will find as optional in the procedural definition of this model. Despite its American origins, the bald cypress has garnered considerable popularity in foreign countries, particularly in Europe, where it graces the surroundings of artificial lakes and ponds.
