Taxodium distichum forest is a bald cypress specially designed for specimen growing in forest. The bald cypress hails from the Southeastern regions of America, where it predominantly thrives along riverbanks and in swamps, giving rise to freshwater environments akin to mangroves. This tree typically reaches an average height of up to 40 meters and is distinguished by its tall and robust root collar, reminiscent of a bottleneck. To facilitate underwater root respiration, the Taxodium distichum, a bald cypress, is known for developing vertical aerial roots—an attribute it shares with some other mangrove trees, such as those in the Avicenia genus. In its natural habitat, the bald cypress is often draped in Spanish moss, which is available as an option in the procedural definition of this species. Despite its native origin in the USA, the bald cypress has gained significant popularity in landscaping projects abroad, particularly in Europe, where it adorns the shores of artificial lakes and ponds.
