Vinca minor, the dwarf periwinkle, is a small crawling subshrub which grows as dense colonies in underwood throughout forests in Europe and the North Middle East. It is also naturalized everywhere in North America. Highly regarded for its blue flowers and its ability to quickly grow as a dense carpets in the shade, the dwarf periwinkle is one of the mostly used ground covers for urban landscaping, especially in the shadow of big buildings.
