Vinca minor, the dwarf periwinkle is a small crawling subshrub growing as dense colonies underwood, throughout Europe and North Middle East forests. It is also naturalized everywhere in North America. Much valued for its blue flowers and its ability to quickly grow as a dense carpets in the shade, the dwarf periwinkle is one of the mostly used ground covers for urban landscaping especially in the shadow of big buildings.
