Echinocactus grusonii, the golden barral cactus is native from the Mexican desert but is cultivated all over the world. It grows into a perfect spherical cactus ball of approx. 60cm in diameter, completely covered by golden needles. Together with the Saguarro cactus (Carnegiea gigantea) and the Barbary fig (Opuntia ficus-indica), the barrel cactus is probably one of the most famous cactus in the world.
