Dypsis lutescens, the butterfly palm, native to Madagascar, is a species of palm with fine and elegant trunk, growing in tight tufts like bamboo. Very resistant to drought, comfortable in both shade and sun, compact and easy to grow, it is one of the big stars of landscaping and tropical gardens.
