Rhizophora forest is a generic engine for mangrove trees with stilt roots. The forest shaped model creates slim trunked trees, up to 15 meters high, dedicated to dense mangroves sceneries. The Rhizophora genus has 9 distinctive species: R. apiculate, R. harrisonii, R. mangle, R. mucronata, R. racemose, R. samoensis, R. selata, R. stylosa, R. tomlinsonii. The most common one being R. mangle (red mangrove) which can be found on the Pacific and Atlantic coasts of the USA, South America and Western Africa. The 2 other most common species are R mucronata and stylosa, which can be found around the Indian and West Pacific oceans. The differences between those species are rather small so the PlantFactory procedural generic model should cover all the species characteristics.
