Guzmania lingulata yellow, commonly known as the droophead tufted airplant or scarlet star, is a cultivated variant distinguished by its eye-catching yellow-colored bracts. The Guzmania lingulata species, a small bromeliad, naturally thrives in the rainforests of Central America, northern and central South America, and southern Mexico. While it is capable of growing in soil, it more commonly assumes the role of an epiphyte, attaching itself to the trunks and branches of trees. Intriguingly, despite its origins in lush jungle environments, the scarlet star has risen to become one of the most popular indoor plants sold worldwide.
